The Tempus BASELINE™ is our proprietary initial member assessment. Its broken down into 3 steps; Movement, Physique and Intent.
MOVEMENT: THE FMS (FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT SCREEN)
At Tempus, we believe the key to feeling better and performing your best is to move well.
That’s why the first step for all of our members is to complete the FMS, which assesses 7 fundamental human movements and assigns each an objective, numerical score. Movement quality is then reassessed at regular intervals throughout the year to make sure your movement quality improves.
All our trainers are certified Functional Movement Specialists. They are experts in using the FMS to make training recommendations that help you boost your strengths and improve your weaknesses.
PHYSIQUE: BODY COMPOSITION SCAN
The next step is to set a physique baseline. The easiest way is to jump on our body scan - its quick and there’s no prodding or poking involved. These initial measurements give you something to compare against as you progress through your training.
Physique measurements available at Tempus include weight, body fat percentage, photos and circumference measurements. It’s entirely up to you how you track, but we encourage you to pick at least 2!
INTENT: WHAT'S THE POINT?
How can you expect to reach your goals if you haven’t clearly defined them?
That’s why the Tempus BASELINE™ includes an intensive goal setting session, or as we like to call it a "statement of intent."
Here, you’ll sit down with a coach and define your fitness aspirations, then go through the process of granulizing this fitness aspiration into smaller, more specific and attainable goals. From there we can put a plan in place outlining the most effective ways to achieve your goals.
Your trainer will also review medical, injury and exercise history with you to make sure you’re good to go.
